CLUB CENTENARY

On April 5th, 2010, Chelmsford Conservative Club will celebrate a special birthday
One Hundred Years old!

The Management Committee have already begun to consider ways in which this illustrious anniversary may be celebrated, throughout the Centenary Year.

A “Centenary Saving Fund” has been put in place and a Working Party have started to put together ideas – not only of the ways in which the Club Members may celebrate – but also to raise funds to help cover these events.  The Management Committee feel strongly that in 2009 Charity should begin at home and therefore all funds raised throughout the year should, instead of being donated to our
Annual Club Charity, become part of the Club’s Centenary Fund.

Suggestions from all Club Members would be welcomed – ideas for functions,  centenary projects and money-raising schemes.

A “Centenary Suggestion Book” will soon be available in the Club for your ideas – but in the meantime all Committee members will be glad to hear your views.

The Centenary Working Party consists of
Peter Squire - Mike Bidwell – Ron Alcock – Vic Richardson
Colin Appleby and Teresa James

Welcome

Chelmsford Conservative Club is located on Moulsham Street in ChelmsfordThe Conservative Club and has been in existence since 1938 when a group of Chelmsford businessmen decided to form a club where they could meet and discuss the days business.

The original club was located at the town end of Moulsham Street before the founding members purchased the current premises.

In 1960, the snooker room was added to allow more space for a growing membership which in it's heyday boasted over 700 members. The Bar Area

Little has changed over the years and the club still enjoys the patronage of over 500 hundred members, many of whom enjoy the relaxed and inviting atmosphere that's become synonymous with the club.

The 'Con Club' as its more commonly known offers its membership a wide and varied selection of social events throughout the year with live entertainment and regular quiz nights. The TV Lounge

The well stocked bar carries all the popular brand name lagers and beers including a regular guest ale.

The Autumn Room which features the Saturday night entertainment is available to members for private functions such as wedding anniversaries, birthdays, christenings and funeral receptions. Details are available from the club secretary.
